Limiting Edits to a VI with Run Mode

You can toggle a VI between edit mode and run mode. Run mode limits what a user can change about a VI.
Use run mode when you do not want a VI to run immediately and you also want to prevent users from editing the VI.
In run mode, all front panel objects have an abridged set of shortcut menu items. In run mode, users can access only the following:
- Front panel controls
- Toolbar buttons that run and stop the VI
- the menu bar
To toggle run mode for a VI, use the menu bar from the block diagram or the
front panel:
