The National Instruments LabVIEW PDA Module supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi (802.11), SMS text messaging, IrDA, and serial communication protocols. Using these communication technologies, your PDA applications can communicate with virtually any system. Wireless communication provides access to networked computer systems, remote data sensors and data acquisition devices, and any networked instruments.
With the introduction of the LabVIEW 7.1 PDA Module, you gained the ability to use NI PCMCIA-CAN cards directly with handheld devices that support PCMCIA. A driver specifically created for handheld CAN applications is available directly from National Instruments. By using this CAN driver with the LabVIEW PDA Module, you can build handheld in-vehicle data-logging as well as portable control and monitoring applications using the CAN network.
