Test cells combine industrial machinery with precision control and laboratory-quality measurements to replicate real-world environments for individual components, systems of components, and complete vehicles. Many systems use dynamometer and/or servo-hydraulic systems to subject components to various loads to simulate real-world and extreme conditions. With connectivity to both industrial systems, automotive and aerospace networks, as well as reconfigurable field-programmable gate array (FPGA) hardware, the NI platform is uniquely positioned to provide a greater level of integration for test cell applications.


Test cell systems often require conditioned measurements and an easily configurable software environment capable of generating test profiles to validate a system of moving mechanical components. Depending on the complexity of the test cell, you can use either NI PXI or CompactRIO to control and monitor the test cell. NI VeriStand and the INERTIA plugin for NI VeriStand combine to create an application-specific software environment designed to get you up and running quickly.
