NI LabVIEW Operating System Support Roadmap

This page provides users with advance notice of upcoming changes to the list of desktop operating systems supported by the LabVIEW development system. Please note that this page does not include operating system support information for LabVIEW modules and toolkit software. All plans are subject to change without notice.

For more information regarding support levels and timelines, visit the NI LabVIEW Life Cycle Policy.

Future Support Changes

As of August 2010, new LabVIEW releases will no longer support:

  • Windows 2000
  • Mac OS X 10.4

1 Prior to LabVIEW 2009, LabVIEW was only a 32-bit application that was compatible with Windows Vista x64 through Windows on Windows (WoW) 64. LabVIEW 2009 and later will provide both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the LabVIEW development environment.

LabVIEW 2009 supports the following Microsoft operating systems: Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows 2000. Our testing with the pre-release version of Windows 7 indicates that LabVIEW 2009 and drivers will work correctly. NI will officially support Windows 7 with the November 2009 NI Device Drivers DVD release.
