# skewness

Version:

Computes the skewness of the input vector or matrix.

## Syntax

y = skewness(x)
y = skewness(x, w)
y = skewness(x, w, dim)

## x

Real or complex array of any dimension.

## w

Calculated skewness type. w is a scalar that accepts the following values.

Name Description
0

Computes the population skewness value.

1

Computes the sample skewness value.

Default: 1

## dim

Dimension of x across which to compute the skewness if x is a matrix. dim is a scalar that accepts the following values.

Name Description
1

Computes the column-wise skewness.

2

Computes the row-wise skewness.

n

Further dimensions.

Default: 1

## y

Skewness of x. If x is a vector, y returns the skewness value of all elements in x. If x is a matrix, y returns a vector of the skewness of each of the rows or columns in x, depending on the value of dim. If x is an array of any dimension, y returns a matrix of the skewness of each of the rows, columns, or pages in x, depending on the value of dim.

X = [1.1 -2 10.5 -4 2.7 3.6];
Y = skewness(X);
