Computes the exponential integral function.

x

The input argument.

Default: 0

n

The exponent parameter.

error in

Error conditions that occur before this node runs. The node responds to this input according to standard error behavior.

Default: No error

En(x)

Value of the exponential integral function.

error out

Error information. The node produces this output according to standard error behavior.

Algorithm for Computing the Exponential Integral Function

The following equation defines the exponential integral function.

$E\left(x,n\right)={\int }_{1}^{\infty }{t}^{-n}{e}^{-xt}dt$

The following intervals for the input values define the exponential integral function.

$n\in \left\{0,1,2,...\right\},\text{\hspace{0.17em}}x\in \left[0,\infty \right)$

This node supports the entire domain of this function that produces real-valued results. For any nonnegative integer value of order n, the function is defined for nonnegative real values of x.
