Sends a register read instruction to the FPGA and returns the data from the read operation.

Input Parameters

  • session in—Identifies your session. Obtain session in from the Register Bus Open Session.
  • register read request—Specifies the subsystem ID and the address of the register to read.
  • register read request.subsystem—Specifies the destination subsystem for the register read or write operation.
  • register read request.address—Specifies the destination address in the subsystem parameter.
  • timeout (1000 ms)—Specifies the minimum time, in milliseconds, that Read Register waits before timing out. The Read Register times out if the register read does not complete and data is not returned by the time the timeout value that you specify elapses. Set this parameter to -1 if you want the Read Register node to wait indefinitely. The default value is 1,000 ms.
  • error in—Describes error conditions that occur before this node runs. This input provides standard error in functionality.

Output Parameters

  • session out—Passes a reference to your session to the next node.
  • data—Returns the data read from the register subsystem and address specified in the register read request parameter.
  • error out—Contains error information. This output provides standard error out functionality.
