NI Linux Real-Time Controller Support for Polling Packet Detection

Visão geral

This document discusses the use of polling for packet detection on a controller running the NI Linux Real-Time OS.

Due to hardware limitations, only a subset of controllers running NI Linux Real-Time support the polling packet detection mode. The following NI Linux Real-Time controllers do not support polling packet detection mode:

  • myRIO-1900
  • myRIO-1950
  • cRIO-9030
  • cRIO-9031
  • cRIO-9032
  • cRIO-9033
  • cRIO-9034
  • cRIO-9035
  • cRIO-9036
  • cRIO-9037
  • cRIO-9038
  • cRIO-9039
  • cRIO-9040
  • cRIO-9041
  • cRIO-9042
  • cRIO-9043
  • cRIO-9045
  • cRIO-9046
  • cRIO-9047
  • cRIO-9048
  • cRIO-9049

If your controller is not in this list and you are not sure if it has access to polling packet detection, you can find out using the Network Settings tab for your device in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX). Under one of your network adapters, click More Settings. If your device supports polling, then you will see a drop-down menu next to Packet Detection, which contains polling as an option.
