NI-Industrial Communications for DeviceNet and Microsoft Windows Compatibility

Visão geral

This page shows supported versions of the NI-Industrial Communications for DeviceNet hardware driver with the Microsoft Windows operating system. Reference this information to ensure you install the correct version when upgrading or updating your operating system, or when migrating or porting code to a new system. Using incompatible versions may result in errors, the inability for Microsoft Windows to recognize or detect and then find a driver for your device, or missing devices in Windows Device Manager or NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX).

Note that this article replaces KnowledgeBase 70K9CFHI : NI-Industrial Communications for DeviceNet and Windows Compatibility. Some NI manuals may still reference the previous document. If you were redirected from the previous KnowledgeBase URL, please update your bookmarks accordingly.

Please note that NI-DNET is a separate driver, and that NI-Industrial Communications for DeviceNet 2.x is not an update for NI-DNET. The two products can be installed on the same system side by side. DeviceNet 2.1 or later provides NI-DNET 1.x compatible VIs, so an application using NI-DNET 1.VIs can work with DeviceNet 2.1 or later on PCI-8532, PXI-8532 and NI 9882 with very limited code change. Please see the White Paper, linked below, for information on how to migrate DNET applications.
