This page shows Data Acquisition (DAQ) Hardware and NI VeriStand compatibility. Reference this information to ensure you install the correct versions of your development environment, toolkit or module, and drivers during installation or setup, or when upgrading or updating your system or software. Using incompatible versions may result in errors, or missing palettes or functions.
Note that this article replaces KnowledgeBase 521FPLSL: Data Acquisition Hardware Compatibility with NI VeriStand. Some NI manuals may still reference the previous document. If you were redirected from the previous KnowledgeBase URL, please update your bookmarks accordingly.
VeriStand Support for NI DAQ Hardware Modules
NI VeriStand natively supports Analog I/O and Digital I/O functions with the following types of NI DAQ devices:
Multifunction I/O (MIO) like the NI 63xx, NI 62xx, NI 61xx and NI 60xxE
Counter/Timer (TIO) like the NI 66xx
Digital I/O (DIO) like the NI 650x, NI 651x, and NI 652x
All native NI-DAQmx I/O (excluding custom devices or other custom implementations) is in the form of single-point reads except for Analog Input, which can be acquired as waveforms for logging and UI purposes. Finally, more information on supported hardware can be found at NI VeriStand 2011 SP1 Help: Supported National Instruments Hardware.
For optimum performance, use hardware that supports Hardware-Timed Single Point Sampling Mode. A list of this hardware can be found at Does My DAQ Device Support Hardware-Timed Single Point Sampling Mode?. If your hardware does not support Hardware-Timed Single Point Sampling mode, you can disable this feature in the Device Specification Page within the System Explorer (as shown below):
