This file contains important information about Data Record Autonomous Driving Plug-In Creation Toolkit 1.0 (Plug-In Creation Toolkit), including installation instructions. You can use the Plug-In Creation Toolkit to create and modify I/O plug-ins to interface with your Data Record System AD (Data Record System) based on your application needs.

System Requirements

Plug-In Creation Toolkit 1.0 has the following requirements:

  • 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor (or equivalent)
  • Minimum disk capacity of 160 GB
  • Minimum 8 GB of RAM
  • Minimum .NET Framework: 4.6.2

Refer to the LabVIEW Readme for additional system requirements and supported operating systems for LabVIEW 2020.

Supported Controllers and Operating Systems

Plug-In Creation Toolkit 1.0 supports the following controllers:

  • PXIe-8861
  • PXIe-8880
  • PXIe-8881

Note  The PXIe-8881 controller is functionally supported, but its high power consumption levels must taken into account during power budgeting.

Plug-In Creation Toolkit 1.0 supports the following operating system:

  • Windows 10 (64-bit only)

Application Software Support

The Plug-In Creation Toolkit supports the following application software versions, including service packs.

  • LabVIEW 2020

Installation Instructions

Download the Plug-In Creation Toolkit as part of the Data Record AD Development Suite software installer from ni.com/downloads. NI software includes NI Package Manager to handle the installation. Refer to the NI Package Manager Manual for more information about installing, removing, and upgrading NI software using NI Package Manager.

Notes

  • The Plug-In Creation Toolkit is part of the Data Record AD Development Suite installer.
  • If Windows Update is enabled, the installation process might hang if Windows Update interferes with the installation of Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Run-Time. Visit ni.com/r/exjq43 for more information and steps to resolve this issue.

Automating the Installation of NI Products

You can automate the installation of most NI products using command-line arguments to suppress some or all of the installer user interface and dialog boxes.

The .NET 4.6.2 installer may run before any NI software installs and may require a reboot before the installation of NI software begins. To avoid a .NET reboot, install .NET 4.6.2 separately before you install NI software.

Using NI Software with Microsoft Windows 10

Microsoft Windows 10 is the latest version of the Windows operating system and features significant changes compared to previous versions.
