Getting Started and Accessing the Help
InsightCM is a software solution for online monitoring to be used with NI monitoring hardware. In the InsightCM web application, you can configure and manage NI monitoring devices, set alarm rules, view acquired data, determine how InsightCM stores data, and more. InsightCM supports the following optional toolkits:

**Configurable through InsightCM
National Instruments recommends you use the following browsers and screen resolution to access the InsightCM web application:

Complete the following steps to configure the device transceiver settings so that the device can reliably communicate with InsightCM Server:
Note Do not use the default localhost value as the hostname for the server. Select the address that best suits your use case based on the criteria listed. |

InsightCM now supports NI wireless devices, enabling you to configure data collection with new equipment types, add wireless gateway devices, and pair endpoints using gateways to monitor your assets. For more information on getting started with wireless devices, visit ni.com/manuals.
The CMS-9047 has improved processing capabilities for critical asset monitoring and is designed to replace the CMS-9036.
InsightCM now supports the Windows 10 operating system. For systems with 10 or more NI monitoring devices, NI recommends using Windows Server. For more information, please refer to this Knowledgebase article.
You can now configure InsightCM to send an email when connectivity to PI fails and restores. By default, one connection alert email will be sent every 6 hours, however this can be configured by clicking Connection Alerts on the Historian dashboard.
The SMTP and LDAP configurations and passwords have been moved and must be configured on the server machine rather than in the web application. Ask your system administrator to configure SMTP and LDAP. For more information, visit ni.com/manuals.

You can access the software and documentation known issues list online. Refer to the NI website for an up-to-date list of known issues in InsightCM.
You can access a list of IDs and titles of a subset of issues fixed in InsightCM on the NI website. This is not an exhaustive list of issues fixed in the current version of InsightCM. If you have a CAR ID, you can search this list to validate that the issue has been fixed.
