LabVIEW 2015 Control Design and Simulation Module Known Issues

Overview

This document contains known issues for the LabVIEW 2015 Control Design and Simulation Module. Not every issue known to NI will appear on this list; it is intended to only show the severe and more common issues that can be encountered.

The LabVIEW 2015 Platform Known Issues contains a full listing of known issues, including LabVIEW toolkits and modules.

Changing an indicator into a constant within a Control & Simulation Loop breaks the VI after the VI has run
If you have an indicator within a Control & Simulation loop that is changed to a constant using Right-Click>Create>Constant, the VI will become broken after you run it.

Workaround: Create a new constant instead of changing an indicator into a constant.

The alias-based setmodelparam MathScript RT function fails to change the specified parameter
In a MathScript RT Node, the setmodelparam(aliasgroup, 'alias', value) function silently fails to change the specified parameter.

Workaround: Use the setmodelparam('parampath', value) method.

Return
The Discrete Nonlinear Noisy Plant Function does not warn of invalid parameters
The Discrete Nonlinear Noisy Plant Function does not generate an error dialog for Q and R coefficients set to zero when the function is configured to direct feedthrough, even though these values are invalid.

Workaround: Select non-zero values for Q and R to ensure valid parameters when using direct feedthrough.

Reported Version: 2014  Resolved Version: N/A  Added: 09/08/2015

Changing an indicator into a constant within a Control & Simulation Loop breaks the VI
If you have an indicator within a Control & Simulation loop, changing that specific indicator into a constant can break the VI.

Workaround: Create a new constant instead of changing an indicator into a constant.

Glossary of Terms

  • Bug ID - When an issue is reported to NI, you may be given this ID or find it on ni.com.  You may also find IDs posted by NI on the discussion forums or in KnowledgeBase articles.
  • Legacy ID – An older issue ID that refers to the same issue.  You may instead find this issue ID in older known issues documents.
  • Description - A few sentences which describe the problem. The brief description given does not necessarily describe the problem in full detail.
  • Workaround - Possible ways to work around the problem.
  • Reported Version - The earliest version in which the issue was reported.
  • Resolved Version - Version in which the issue was resolved or was no longer applicable. "N/A" indicates that the issue has not been resolved.
  • Date Added - The date the issue was added to the document (not the reported date).
