Using this Switches Replacement Relay Guide

This guide is intended to cover replacement relays designed for use with NI Switches. It does not explicitly cover replacement parts for other NI product families such as DAQ. HSDIO, C Series, or reconfigurable I/O (formerly R Series). It also does not cover legacy or End of Life (EOL) parts or products.

How to Replace a Relay on Your Switch

If a relay on your NI Switch is broken or has failed you will need to perform the following tasks to replace it.

  1. Identify the correct replacement relay for your module or device. See the NI Replacement Relays and Manufacturer Part Numbers for relay orderable part numbers.
  2. Once you have the correct replacement relay, navigate to the NI-Switch Help. If you have installed NI-Switch on your system, the NI-Switch Help can be found in the <National Instruments>\NI-SWITCH\NI-SWITCH Documentation folder, or the NI-Switch Help can be found online
  3. In the NI-Switch Help you will find guidance on replacing your relay by navigating to NI Switches Help>>Devices>><Model Number>>>Relay Replacement. Here you will find a step-by-step guide on how to replace relays on your switch module.

For example, a step-by-step guide on how to replace a relay in the NI PXIe-2526 can be found by navigating to NI Switches Help>>Devices>>NI PXIe-2526>>Relay Replacement

1 The IM42GR and IM42PGR relays are drop in replacements. Some switch model revisions were built using different relays. Contact NI to find out which relay was used on a specific device.
2 The G6KU_2K-Y can be used with the 2575 but is not a drop in replacement for the other relays listed as it is only rated for 30W. Some switch model revisions were built using different relays, contact NI to find out which relay was used on a specific device.

3 Some switch model revisions were built using different relays. Contact NI to find out which relay was used on a specific device.

Ordering Information

For more information on any of the listed NI orderable parts, please visit http://www.ni.com/contact-us/ to contact an NI representative. NI orderable parts listed in this guide without a product page can still be purchased by contacting NI.

For parts with a manufacturer part number, please contact the manufacturer or their vendors for further information about the product and purchasing.  Manufacturer part numbers represent functionally equivalent replacements that are currently available from the specified manufacturer. This may differ from the part found on your device, module, cable or accessory as NI continuously revises and improves their products.

Some parts are custom made for NI or are common parts in industry, and do not have orderable part numbers. Please use the specifications provided to find an appropriate part.
