Known Issues

The following issues have been found with NI-DAQmx Base 2.1 for Mac OS X.

  1. Numerous debug messages:
    The NI-DAQmx Base frameworks generate diagnostic messages to standard error.
  2. Unexpected abort:
    A program linked against the NI frameworks must call into them before exiting, or the process will abort with the following error:

    "terminate called without an active exception."

    A suitable workaround is to call into the driver at least once before exiting.


Both of these issues were corrected in NI-DAQmx Base 3.1 for Mac OS X. The workaround to avoid these issues is to upgrade to NI-DAQmx Base 3.1 or later. NI-DAQmx Base can be downloaded from the following location:

  • Resolved Version - Version in which the issue was resolved or was no longer applicable. "N/A" indicates that the issue has not been resolved.
  • Date Added - The date the issue was added to the document (not the reported date).
