This document contains the Vision Acquisition Software known issues that were discovered before and since the release of Vision Acquisition Software 21.0. Known issues are performance issues or technical bugs that NI has acknowledged exist within this version of the product.

 

Not every issue known to NI appears on this list; it is intended to show the most severe and common issues that you may encounter and provide workarounds when possible. Other technical issues that you may encounter could occur through normal product use or system compatibility issues. You may find more information on these issues in NI’s Product Documentation, Knowledgebase, or Community.

Upgrading and then Downgrading NI-IMAQdx may not yield correct version.

Upgrading and then downgrading the NI-IMAQdx driver might not revert back completely to the correct version.

Workaround:

Manually delete the niimaqdx.dll from System 32 and SysWOW64 after uninstalling the new version and then force reinstall the old one.

Disabling image display should help reduce the utilization.

When a GigE camera has a UserDefinedName with a special character in it, the .iid file is not created properly.

When a GigE camera has a UserDefinedName with a special character ('\"', '*', '/', ':', '<', '>', '?', '\\', '|') in it, the .iid file is not created properly.

Workaround:

Removing the character or manually creating the .iid file on disk and pointing to the serial number of the camera.

IMAQdx Calculate Frames per Second VI doesn't appear to handle buffer number rollover

During long running or high frame per second acquisitions Calculate Frames per Second VI is unable to handle roll over of the buffer number input and can cause failures.

Include relevant system information, steps to reproduce, and any workarounds.
