NI Package Builder 20.5 Known Issues

Overview

This document contains the NI Package Builder known issues that were discovered before and since the release of NI Package Builder 20.5. Known issues are performance issues or technical bugs that NI has acknowledged exist within this version of the product.

 

Not every issue known to NI appears on this list; it is intended to show the most severe and common issues that you may encounter and provide workarounds when possible. Other technical issues that you may encounter could occur through normal product use or system compatibility issues. You may find more information on these issues in NI’s Product Documentation, Knowledgebase, or Community.

Shortcut files (*.lnk) Cannot be Added to the Input Pane Using the Add File Dialog

Shortcut files (.lnk) cannot be added to the input pane using the Add File dialog, this will instead add the shortcut's target file.

Workaround:

Add the shortcut file by dragging the file from file explorer and dropping in the input pane or adding it as an item within a discoverable directory.

Discovery Exclusion of Deployment Utility Directory Fails

The Discovery Exclusion file contains "[TestStand Public]\\Components\\Tools\\Deployment Utility\\.*" in the [Exclude Paths] however adding the C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\TestStand 2019 (64-bit)\Components\Tools directory as an input item will still pull in the Deployment Utility directory and its contents.

Workaround:

Replace the "[TestStand Public]" token in the path with the absolute path of the TestStand Public directory on the building system.
