Disconnecting the Inhibit pin on the PXIe-4051 does not disable the input when Output Shorted is True and when Output Function is DC Voltage or Constant Resistance

When the Output Shorted property is True, disconnecting the Inhibit pin on the PXIe-4051 does not disable the input when Output Function is set to DC Voltage or Constant Resistance, and it might not behave correctly when Output Function is Constant Power.

Workaround:

Avoid using Output Shorted on PXIe-4051 if the Inhibit pin is needed to work while using the affected output functions. Manually configure the PXIe-4051 to simulate the short circuit using the following configurations instead:
  • Set Output Function to DC Current
  • Set the maximum rated current and range
  • Set the maximum slew rate
  • Set Conduction Voltage Mode to Disabled

Unclosed NI-DCPower session on certain devices cannot be reset, thus preventing a new session to be initialized with the device

On PXIe-4051, PXIe-4147, PXIe-4150, PXIe-4151, PXIe-4162, PXIe-4163, PXIe-4190 and all their variants, if an NI-DCPower session is left open after a measurement is performed (for example, after an application crash or an aborted test sequence) and is not properly closed, subsequent attempts to initialize a new session on the instrument will fail with an error. Performing a device reset from NI Measurement & Automation Explorer does not resolve the issue.

Workaround:

Reboot the system.

PXIe-4190 LCR Impedance Autorange fails with external digital edge source triggers

When using the PXIe-4190 with Instrument Mode set to LCR and LCR Impedance Autorange set to On, if the instrument is configured to use a Digital Edge Source Trigger, the instrument will fail to complete a measurement, and calling Measure, Fetch, or Wait For Event will cause a timeout error.

Workaround:

There is currently no known workaround for this issue.

In a session initialized with "niDCPower Initialize With Channels", calling "niDCPower Self Test" or "niDCPower Cal Self Calibrate" might cause Output Enabled to be False on certain devices

After initializing an NI-DCPower session on the PXIe-4051, PXIe-4147, PXIe-4150, PXIe-4151, PXIe-4162, PXIe-4163, PXIe-4190 or their variants and calling niDCPower Self Test or niDCPower Cal Self Calibrate on it, the Output Enabled attribute might return False instead of being reset to its default value of True as if niDCPower Reset With Channels is called.

Workaround:

  • Initialize the session using niDCPower Initialize With Independent Channels.
  • Manually call niDCPower Reset With Channels to reset the Output Enabled attribute to True.
