[VLM] Crash in VLM 2024 Q4 while generating reports

[VLM] Application Crash or Freeze During Report Generation
In previous versions, the Volume License Manager (VLM) could crash or become unresponsive when users generated or exported reports.
This behavior was linked to excessive refresh calls and memory load during report processing. Users experienced symptoms such as the UI freezing or closing unexpectedly during report export.

Resolution:
The report generation and export process has been optimized to prevent UI freezes and application crashes. VLM 2025 Q4 now provides improved stability and faster response when generating large or repeated reports.

Workaround:

There is currently no known workaround for this issue.

[VLM] SQLite throwing Out of memory Exception

Description:

[VLM] Out-of-Memory Error During License Checkout
In some cases, the application displayed an Out of Memory (OOM) error during license checkout operations. This issue occurred due to excessive internal logging during specific error-handling events, which consumed additional memory.

Resolution:
The logging process has been refined to avoid redundant memory usage, reducing system load and improving performance during high checkout activity.

There is currently no known workaround for this issue.

VLM 2025 Q4 application unexpected behavior during launch

The application fails to launch and instead redirect the user to an unexpected webpage. When this occurs, the application does not start as expected and user interaction cannot proceed. This occurs for all the launch scenarios

This issue is observed immediately during application startup and is not dependent on a specific workflow or user action.

Issue Details

The issue occurs due to an invalid or outdated configuration used during application startup. When the configuration is no longer valid, the application is unable to complete initialization and redirects to a webpage instead of launching normally. This configuration is valid for internal development purposes only.

Expected Behavior

  • The browser popup appears once during the Patch 1 upgrade. This does not indicate a failure, defect, or corruption.
  • The update continues normally after the popup.
  • VLM launches successfully after the upgrade.
  • All standard operations—including installing license files, backup, and restore—function as expected after upgrade completion.
  • The popup does not appear again after Patch 1 is installed.

Workaround:

There is currently no known workaround for this issue.
