Sometimes the Battery Test System Server incorrectly indicates a LabPC is still running

The Battery Test System Server may incorrectly assume that a Lab PC is still running after executing a test plan if you use one of the following functions:
  • Save & Run
  • Test Station > Test Plan Execution > Run Test

Workaround:

Manually check the status of the LabPC. If the LabPC is not actually running, then disregard the server’s indication.

Migrating from Linux to Windows may cause case-sensitivity compatibility issues

You may encounter errors when migrating from Linux to Windows if your file storage contains paths that only differ in letter case. Windows cannot create paths in this case because it treats paths as case insensitive. For example, Windows interprets ‘Foo’ and ‘foo’ as the same path.

Workaround:

NI does not recommend migrating back from Linux to Windows. If you need migration assistance, contact NI technical support.

Uploading large files through the Package Loader tab on the server's UI results in an error or page freeze

The Battery Test System Server has a maximum message size limit when uploading package files through the browser. When the message size exceeds the limit, the system closes the connection with an error. However, the system does not provide a detailed error message, and may leave the page unresponsive. This limit is calculated based on the formula:

s ≈ 80 + 3*(n-1) + c

where s is the message size in bytes, n is the number of files being uploaded, and c is the total number of characters in all of the relative paths of files selected to upload.

Workaround:

  • Reduce the number of files or shorten the file paths, then try uploading again.
  • Use the Battery Test System Package Loader from the command line interface.
