NI RFmx Resources

First Steps with RFmx

1. Download RFmx and NI InstrumentStudio™ software.

Downloading and installing RFmx will also download and install InstrumentStudio. The RFmx Soft Front Panels are included within InstrumentStudio.

Download RFmx

2. Open the NI Hardware Configuration Utility.

The NI Hardware Configuration utility is an application that installs with all NI drivers and is used to manage hardware. It allows you to name devices, associate them correctly, and establish communication with your RF instruments so you can begin working with RFmx. To open it, search for NI Hardware Configuration Utility using the Windows search bar or browse your system’s installed NI software.

3. Open InstrumentStudio.

After you open InstrumentStudio, select the RF Signal Analyzer panel and the RF Signal Generator panel. Using these panels, you can interactively configure your RF instrument using RFmx.

4. Open RFmx Waveform Creator.

For more complex waveform generation, use the RFmx Waveform Creator to build custom, standard-specific waveforms—or use prebuilt waveform examples to quickly get started generating an RF waveform.
