1. Download and install the LabVIEW+ Suite for HIL
Download the LabVIEW+ Suite for HIL. NI Package Manager handles the full installation for NI software, including NI VeriStand, NI DIAdem, NI TestStand, NI LabVIEW, NI LabVIEW FPGA Module, and NI LabVIEW Real-Time Module.
Open VeriStand and create a system definition. Add your real-time target or use a PC-based target to get started without hardware, import a simulation model, and map your channels.
3. Build or modify a LabVIEW VI
Use LabVIEW to create custom stimulus profiles, communication interfaces, or FPGA logic for your HIL system. If your test workflow uses compiled models, the LabVIEW FPGA Module lets you program compatible NI hardware directly.
4. Create a TestStand test sequence
Open TestStand and build a sequence that automates your test procedure. Configure steps that call into VeriStand to set stimulus values, read measurements, and evaluate pass/fail criteria. This process replaces manual test execution with repeatable, auditable automation.
5. Analyze results in DIAdem
Load your test data into DIAdem to visualize waveforms, compute statistics, compare across runs, and generate formatted reports. DIAdem reads TDMS files natively, so data logged by VeriStand flows in without conversion.
