1 Gbit/s, Kintex-7 FPGA Support, 20 LVDS-Channel Digital Adapter Module for NI FlexRIO

Overview

The NI-6589 is a digital I/O adapter module that, when combined with a PXI FPGA Module for FlexRIO or the Controller for FlexRIO, creates a digital instrument for interfacing with 20 low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) digital pins. A digital I/O adapter module for FlexRIO can be used to do real-time interfacing of standard protocols and implement customized protocols. The NI-6589 can sample digital waveforms at up to 1 GHz and includes support for common LVDS voltages.

    Recommended use cases
    LabVIEW Professional (784584-35)
LabVIEW Professional Development System, Windows, All Languages, Subscription License, Download

Recommended for test, measurement, automation, and control applications; NI LabVIEW enables engineers to quickly connect to real-world systems, accelerate their productivity, and adapt to any challenge. LabVIEW provides the following capabilities:

    • Connectivity to any Instrument regardless of vendor
    • A native user interface for monitoring and controlling test
    • Thousands of engineering analysis functions
    • Seamless interoperability popular programming languages, such as Python, C, and .NET

    LabVIEW FPGA Module (788434-35)
LabVIEW FPGA Module, Subscription License, Download

Recommended for applications with high-speed control loops, in-line signal processing, or high-reliability requirements. The LabVIEW FPGA Module allows you to develop and debug custom hardware logic that you can compile and deploy to NI FPGA-enabled hardware.

The LabVIEW FPGA Module is a software add-on for NI LabVIEW that you can use to more efficiently and effectively design FPGA-based systems through a highly integrated development environment, IP libraries, a high-fidelity simulator, and debugging features. You can create FPGA VIs that combine direct access to I/O with user-defined LabVIEW logic to define custom hardware for applications such as digital protocol communication, hardware-in-the-loop simulation, and rapid control prototyping. Though the LabVIEW FPGA Module contains many built-in signal processing routines, you can also integrate existing hardware description language (HDL) code as well as third-party IP.
