1. Download NI Vision Development Module
If you haven’t purchased Vision Development Module (VDM) yet, download it today to receive a free evaluation of the software. Start a free trial.
If you’ve already purchased Vision Development Module, check your inbox for an email that lets you claim access. Registering the software with your NI User Account ensures access to updates, documentation, and support benefits included with your software.
Note: Vision Development Module is an add-on for LabVIEW. You will need an active LabVIEW Professional license or start a concurrent LabVIEW trial to access the software.
2. Explore Vision Examples in Example Finder
Vision Development Module includes dozens of example applications demonstrating image acquisition, calibration, pattern matching, particle analysis, barcode reading, OCR, geometric matching, color inspection, and measurement.
3. Connect and Configure Your Camera
Install NI Vision Acquisition Software (VAS), which is included with the purchase of the Vision Development Module to discover and configure supported imaging hardware.
Vision Acquisition Software enables communication with the following types of vision interfaces:
- GigE Vision cameras
- USB3 Vision cameras
- Camera Link cameras
- IEEE-1394 cameras
- DirectShow USB cameras
- NI frame grabbers
4. Build, Test, and Deploy Your Vision Application
Use the Vision Development Module to construct and debug your inspection workflow.
