This article answers the following questions:
- Is a subscription software license registered to the person who purchases it or to the end user who activates it?
- Who can claim access or activate the software?
During the checkout process for single-seat software, NI prompts the customer to indicate the end user for the software. Only the person who claims access to the software can activate the software.
If an end user is not specified at checkout, the person receiving the ownership acknowledgment email —the purchaser— is assigned the license.
You also can transfer an NI Software License to another user using the Transfer License action from the Manage My Software page. You will need to be logged in to your NI User Account.
