- What triggers a compliance review?
At NI/Emerson, we believe that innovation thrives in an environment of trust and fairness. To uphold the integrity of our software solutions, we’ve partnered with ITCA, an authorized provider of Software License Compliance and Intellectual Property (IP) Protection to perform authorized compliance outreach.
ITCA's team of compliance specialists is officially authorized by NI to contact organizations who have been identified as having unauthorized usage of NI software. These specialists are empowered to take the following actions:
- Engage directly with NI customers
- Propose settlement agreements aimed at resolving violations amicably
- Help customers return to compliance while avoiding costly litigation
Software misuse can happen in various ways, including the following examples:
- Using cracked or tampered versions of NI software
- Employing illegally generated serial numbers
- Violating license terms, such as using single-seat licenses across multiple machines simultaneously.
- Usage of non-commercial or internal only versions of NI’s software for commercial applications
- Usage of NI Partner Licenses for customer application deployments
If any of these scenarios are detected, ITCA may initiate contact to address the matter responsibly and discreetly.
Executive-Level Awareness
ITCA goes beyond technical enforcement. In every flagged case, company leadership is formally notified to ensure the issue is managed appropriately at the highest level. This approach ensures transparency and accountability throughout the resolution process.
Our Commitment
NI is committed to fostering ethical and lawful use of its products. We encourage all users to review and comply with their licensing terms.
