Hardware Product Life Cycle Policies
Technology evolution, market demand, and component obsolescence dictate the life cycle of a given NI hardware product. NI uses several internal processes to track these factors and manage the life cycle of NI hardware products.

1A next generation upgrade product has been identified. A product is not recommended for new designs in the Mature phase.
This product is currently the best available option for the applications that fall within its specifications. The duration of the Active phase is based on various factors, such as technology evolution, component obsolescence, and market requirements.
A recommended replacement has been released for this product, or NI has intentionally divested in this technology, and the product is no longer recommended for new designs. The length of the Mature phase depends on the release date of the recommended replacement and the announcement of the Last Time Buy Date (LTBD) for the product. A product may skip the Mature phase if a LTBD is announced without a replacement being released.
When NI decides to no longer manufacture a product, it generally provides a one-year last-time buy period. Some circumstances, such as the sudden loss of a key component due to catastrophic or other unforeseen events, may prevent NI from providing a full year of notice. Products purchased during the last-time buy period receive the standard warranty.
In general, a product stays in the Maintenance phase for at least five years after its last-time buy date, based on the standard warranty period. However, support services are typically available beyond this period based on reasonable efforts to accommodate repair and calibration capability.
The product is no longer available for purchase and is not supported by NI.
