The NI-Industrial Communications for IEC 60870-5 helps you program your customized IEC 60870-5 applications.
The NI-Industrial Communications for IEC 60870-5 is driver software that provides a set of open communication protocols commonly used in electrical utilities. The software contains an extensive library of LabVIEW VIs and properties you can call from LabVIEW. With this software, you can deploy functions on NI real-time controllers such as CompactRIO Controllers, CompactRIO Single-Board Controllers, and PXI Controllers for field applications. The NI-Industrial Communications for IEC 60870-5 supports Ethernet and serial communication, file transfer, and time synchronization between controlling station and controlled station. You also can use multiple communication channels for each controlled station and multiple sessions for each channel.
