This guide is intended to cover mounting, connectors, power supply and cables for use with your CompactRIO Controller and CompactRIO Chassis. It does not explicitly cover other NI product families such asDAQ Multifunction I/O, Digital Waveform Instruments (formerly HSDIO), or R Series. It also does not cover legacy or End of Life (EOL) parts or products.

Glossary of Terms Used

Desktop Power Supply - Recommended for use while prototyping on a desktop. Most industrial power supplies are not intended for desktop use and can be dangerous in this setting. Click here for an example.
Power Supply - Power supply allows DIN-rail mounting. Click here for an example.
Panel Mounting Kit - Panel/wall mount kit for mounting power supplies onto a flat surface without DIN rail. Click here for an example.
Side Mounting Kit - Side mounting kits for mounting power suppliers sideways to reduce installation depth. Side mounting kits are capable of panel/wall mount and DIN-rail mount. Click here for an example.
