Overview

This document contains the ECU Test System Maintenance Software known issues that were discovered before and since the release of ECU Test System Maintenance Software 21.0. Known issues are performance issues or technical bugs that NI has acknowledged exist within this version of the product.

 

Not every issue known to NI appears on this list; it is intended to show the most severe and common issues that you may encounter and provide workarounds when possible. Other technical issues that you may encounter could occur through normal product use or system compatibility issues. NI MAX may show the PXIe-8430/8 serial module outside of the chassis on first boot

In systems that ship with a serial module, NI MAX may show the PXIe-8430/8 serial module outside of the chassis on first boot.

Workaround:

Restart the ECU Test System.

Systems with a second PXI chassis may show the Thunderbolt device disconnected on first boot

In systems that ship with a second PXI chassis, the Thunderbolt expansion MXI (PXIe-8301) may not be recognized as connected to the system. NI MAX does not show the secondary chassis, and the devices associated with that chassis show as missing from the system.

Workaround:

Shut down and power off the ECU Test System. Leave powered off for one minute before powering on the system again. If the second chassis is still not detected, use the Thunderbolt software from the notification area to recognize and authorize the port.

Failure messages in the report may label terminal block components as cables.

Workaround:

ECUTS-16000/16001 User Manual shows incorrect pins in the J18, J19, J20, and J21 pin map when populated with a PXIe-6378

4 ground pins are incorrect: B39, A45, B45, and B47.

Workaround:

The pins should be mapped as follows:
  • B39 = DGND
  • A45 = DGNDP0.0_P0.1
  • B45 = DGNDP1.0_P1.1
  • B47 = DGND

Disconnected load wires are not always detected for RMX-4005 devices

If an RMX-4005 is just connected to only one set of Load wires, the ECU Test System Maintenance Software's continuity check with a Field Diagnostic Tester (FDT) may incorrectly pass.

Workaround:

There is currently no known workaround for this issue.
