The NI-DAQmx 9.8.0 Patch is available for customers who have installed NI-DAQmx 9.8.0 f0 Full, Configuration with MAX, or Core.

NI strongly recommends this patch for all NI-DAQmx 9.8.0 f0 installations. NI-DAQmx 9.9 and higher include this fix.

This patch fixes an issue, ID# 463202. Waveform data type t0 are recalculated from system time on each DAQmx Read for PCIe and PXIe X Series, SC Express, NI 6612, and NI 6614.

This affects both analog input and digital input t0 timestamps when read as a waveform data type. The analog or digital data itself is not affected.

Due to differences between system time and the oscillator on the DAQ device, t0 timestamps may overlap or show a gap between subsequent DAQmx Reads. All timestamps will reflect variations in system time even though the data was acquired according to the DAQ device timebase. The difference in behavior of the affected devices may be especially noticeable with external sample clocks.

Note: The NI-DAQmx 9.8.0 patch is available through NI Update Service. To install the patch manually, refer to the Drivers and Updates link below.

Manual Installation Instructions:

Download and run the self-extracting executable NIDAQ980patch.exe, then follow the prompts.

For Real-Time users:
The NI-DAQmx 9.8.0 Patch will not be visible as a separate version of NI-DAQmx in the Real-Time Software Wizard. Both patched and unpatched versions will appear simply as "9.8.0" and having one installed on your host and the other installed on your target will not trigger a version mis-match error. After you have installed the NI-DAQmx 9.8.0 patch and rebooted your computer if prompted, deploy NI-DAQmx to your real time targets. To ensure that you are running the patched version both on host and target, it is recommended that you remove NI-DAQmx from the target, reboot the target, then reinstall NI-DAQmx from the host.
