Overview

This document contains known issues that were discovered before and since the release of the Sound and Vibration Toolkit 2009 and the Sound and Vibration Measurement Suite 2009. Not every issue known to NI will appear on this list; it is intended to only show the severe and more common issues that can be encountered.

Known Issues

The following items are known issues in the Sound and Vibration Toolkit and the Sound and Vibration Measurement Suite.

General Issues

  • Measurement & Automation Explorer may load slowly after installing SVMS if you do not reboot your computer.
  • Traditional DAQ VIs or examples will only be installed to the latest LabVIEW version existing when the users chooses to install Traditional DAQ support.
  • When loading VIs from SVT 4.0 and earlier, LabVIEW may prompt you to find one or more Sound and Vibration VIs. Workaround:  You can relink to the latest Sound and Vibration VIs by finding the VI in the installed version when prompted. For instance, if you are prompted to find the SVL Scale Voltage to EU.vi previously found at <LabVIEW>\vi.lib\addons\NISVL\_NISVL.llb\SVL Scale Voltage to EU.vi, you should find the installed VI at <LabVIEW>\vi.lib\addons\Sound and Vibration\svt_Calibration\SVL Scale Voltage to EU.vi.

Waterfall and Colormap Displays

  • Colormap, Speed Profile, and Waterfall displays will lose their buffer data if you switch from the playback area to the monitor area and then back.

UFF58 File I/O

  • The UFF58 plug in does not support localized operating systems.
  • The Uff58 plug in cannot open UFF58 files that contain Japanese characters.  The file name can be in Japanese, but the file text cannot.

Sound and Vibration Assistant

  • User step with octave output does not display in Octave table viewer.
  • For proximity measurements the unit may be set to either meters or inches for groups of microphones.  For Sound and Vibration Assistant steps and viewers the units are either inches or meters for all microphones.  If you have some groups with each unit then the unit display will be incorrect.  Using differnet units will also cause the data to load incorrectly in graph displays. Work around:  Specify the scale units for all microphones to be either inches or meters, but not both.
