The AL-ECAT Custom Device is a software add-on for VeriStand that enables VeriStand-based test systems to integrate with third-party EtherCAT SubDevices. The AL-ECAT Custom Device is ideal for test engineers and system integrators looking for a scalable solution within the NI ecosystem to expand their test system�s capabilities with broad EtherCAT SubDevice compatibility. Key features include the EtherCAT MainDevice, in which each instance of the Custom Device creates a software-defined MainDevice, and Auto-Detect SubDevices, which detect and configure connected devices with a click of a button. It also offers PDO Support, which maps Process Data Objects (PDOs) directly to VeriStand Channels, and a EtherCAT Network State, which can control and monitor the EtherCAT network state from VeriStand. The AL-ECAT Custom Device also offers diagnostics so that you can access EtherCAT diagnostic information to help with troubleshooting.
