Connecting to a Remote File Share

Last Modified: August 27, 2020

To ensure your SystemLink setup is scalable and fault-tolerant, connect to a remote file share using the Server Message Block (SMB) protocol.

  1. Launch NI SystemLink Server Configuration.
  2. Under NI SystemLink Service Manager, select the service you want to connect to the remote file share.
  3. Under Configuration, specify the output path for the file share you want to connect to.
  4. Choose whether to run the service as a network service or as a custom user. If the server machine has write access to the file share, choose Network Service. If only a specific user has access, choose Other account. Contact your IT administrator to determine which option fits your use case.
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Repeat these steps for any other SystemLink service that needs access to the remote file share.
