Use job files for Data Preprocessor instances to process specific files or folders. Targeted processing may be necessary if
files already exist but are still incomplete. Incomplete files result in incorrect data or lead automatic processing to skip
a file due to a processing error.
-
Open a text editor.
-
Create the job file. Refer to
Properties and Structure of Job Files for more information on the properties and structure of job files.
-
Save the job file on a path to which the Data Preprocessor instance has access. Job files are text files and have the file
extension
*.dfpj for Data Preprocessor instances.
-
In
Data Preparation, click
Data Preprocessor Instances.
-
Select an instance and click
.
-
To enable the processing of job files, select the folder to which you saved the
job files and click OK. Use a UNC path to specify the
folder. An example UNC path is \\Server\MyFolder.
-
Click
Apply in the highlighted area to accept the settings.
A Data Preprocessor instance processes all job files from the specified folder. After processing, the Data Preprocessor instance
deletes the job file. If a job file contains errors, the Data Preprocessor instance creates an
Errors folder below the folder containing the job files, copies the incorrect job file to this folder, and saves a logfile with
the error description in the same folder.
