Overview of the SystemLink Architecture

SystemLink implements a server-client architecture to transmit data over a connected network between your systems and server.

The architecture of SystemLink enables central coordination and management of your test and measurement systems, assets, software, and data. Refer to the following image and table to learn about the SystemLink architecture.

Architecture Component Description
SystemLink Web Application Web-based user interface of SystemLink you and your team use to manage systems, deploy software, calibrate assets, monitor tests, and more.
SystemLink Server Computer that contains the necessary software, services, and APIs to execute the functions you need to connect and manage your systems, data, and assets.
Managed Systems Processing units that exchange data with the SystemLink Server over a network. You must install NI SystemLink Client on each managed system and initiate a connection to the SystemLink Server to start collecting data or controlling your managed systems.
Connected Data Stores File repositories that provide data for the automation of data retrieval, harmonization, analysis, and reporting for your team. You must install SystemLink TDM components on the server to start managing and accessing data in connected data stores from the NI SystemLink Web Application.
File Service Central SystemLink file repository. Configure your systems and devices to save all data to the file service so that all SystemLink applications can access the data.
