Overview of the SystemLink Architecture

Last Modified: August 15, 2019

SystemLink implements a server-client architecture to transmit data over a connected network between your systems and server.

The architecture of SystemLink enables central coordination and management of your test and measurement systems, assets, software, and data. Refer to the following image and table to learn about the SystemLink architecture.

Architecture Component Description
SystemLink Web Application The web-based user interface of SystemLink you and your team use to manage systems, deploy software, calibrate assets, monitor tests, and more.
SystemLink Server The computer that contains the necessary software, services, and APIs to execute the functions you need to connect and manage your systems, data, and assets.
Managed systems The processing units that exchange data with the SystemLink Server over a network. You must install NI SystemLink Client on each managed system and initiate a connection to the SystemLink Server to start collecting data or controlling your managed systems.
Managed data stores The processing units that automate data processing, mining, and reporting for your team. You must install SystemLink TDM on your data stores to start managing and accessing data from the NI SystemLink Web Application.
