Monitoring the Indexing Status

Monitor the system status of DataFinder instances to restart them if necessary.

  1. In Data Indexing, click DataFinder Instances.
  2. Select an instance and click »Manage»System Status.
  3. Check the indexing status at file level. If you use the FileIndex instance, SystemLink sorts the files in ascending order by the date of the last file changes.
  4. Optional: Perform any of the following tasks.
    Goal What to do
    Filter files by indexing status. Click Filter View. For example, you can only display files whose indexing has failed or which have not yet been indexed.
    Index folders that have not yet been indexed (not available for the FileIndex instance). Select a folder and choose Index Folder»Index.
    Index one file that was not successfully indexed. Select a file and click Reindex File.
    Index multiple files that were not successfully indexed (not available for the FileIndex instance). Select a folder and choose Index Folder»Reindex.
  5. Optional: For basic indexing information, click »Quick Info. For more detailed information, click »Advanced Statistics.

    Advanced Statistics might show more indexed files than existing files because several DataPlugins can be used for one file type.

If the DataFinder instance is not started, the system status displays the most recent data from before the instance stopped. If you restart the instance after deleting large search areas, it may take some time until the index updates.
