Storing and Managing Files

View and manage all files in the central SystemLink file service with the dedicated Files application.

Click »Utilities»Files and use the following table to determine how to organize and interact with files.
Goal Task
Transfer files from other clients, devices, or software to SystemLink server using APIs. Choose a way to access the file service to move files between clients and a server.
Upload a file manually. Click Upload, browse to choose a file, and click Close. Alternatively, you can upload files in Data Navigation.
Move incoming files to a separate folder on the SystemLink server or on a different network server. Configure file moving rules.
Store your incoming files on Amazon Web Service (AWS). Configure SystemLink to upload your files to Amazon S3.
Add properties to files. Properties make it easier for applications like Data Indexing, Data Navigation, and the file moving service to identify files. Select a file, click , then click Add Property. Enter a property name, or key, and a value. Alternatively, you can automate this process using one of the APIs.
Download a file manually. Select a file, click Download, and then click Save.
Display a file in a graph. Select a file and click Preview.

SystemLink server applications cannot access files in the file service that have dependency files, such as TDM and TDX files. You need to save files with dependency files in a separate folder using file rules.
