Sharing Data Across Systems

Last Modified: August 31, 2020

Transfer data to where it is needed using the SystemLink data services or by connecting external systems and software using APIs, software tools like LabVIEW VIs, or connectors for DIAdem and OPC UA Servers.

Refer to the following table to determine how to share your data with, or move data on, the SystemLink platform depending on your needs.
Goal What to do
Directly interact with the central SystemLink file repository to upload and download files or move files on the server. Open File Viewer and select the service you need.
Find data on SystemLink Server or the company network. Use Data Indexing and Data Navigation to index and find data in search areas on the server or the company network.
Monitor activities on my server or clients like LabVIEW or FlexLogger using tags. Create tags and connect them to a dashboard.
Connect from a LabVIEW programming environment. Use the SystemLink Data Communication palette in LabVIEW and LabVIEW NXG, or use one of the APIs.
Find data in the server's file service or other search areas from a LabVIEW or DIAdem client. Export a client configuration in Data Indexing and register it with the client to connect with a DataFinder. Use the DIAdem My DataFinder or the DataFinder Connectivity palette in LabVIEW 2019 or later to search for data with a DataFinder on SystemLink.
Share data with cloud applications and users outside my network. Connect the server to SystemLink Cloud.
  1. Open the Cloud App and click Create.
  2. Specify a name and API key for the session.

Connect to an OPC UA server.

Open OPC UA to create a connection.
