Use the Quick Search to find search terms in the file properties
of a DataFinder instance. You use the quick search if you only have parts of the information
you are searching for, or if you do not know whether the information you are searching for
is in a file, a channel group, or a channel.
-
In Data Navigation, select the DataFinder or the
Federation instance you want to search with and click
.

Note
To search in the search areas of a
DataFinder or Federation instance, the instance requires web access. An
authorized user can enable web access by selecting .
-
Click
Quick Search if the quick search is not already enabled.
-
Enter a search term.

Solution
|
Find several search terms
|
Separate several search terms with spaces.
|
Use wildcards to find parts of search terms
|
Find parts of search terms with wildcards (* and
?). You can only use wildcards at the end of a search term, for example,
exa*.
|
Find numeric values
|
Use the advanced search because the quick search always interprets search terms as text. For example, if you enter the search
term
100, Data Navigation searches for the text
100 and not for the numeric value
100.
|
Find search terms containing special characters
|
Use the advanced search because the quick search replaces the special characters in a search term with spaces.
|
Find case-sensitive search terms
|
Not possible because neither the quick search nor the Advanced Search are
case-sensitive.
|
-
Click

Note
The search results list always contains the search results of the previous
search.
