Indexing Your Data

Last Modified: November 7, 2019

Use DataFinder instances to find your technical data on local computers and servers in a global network or in the SystemLink file service. DataFinder instances index, for example, folders with data harmonized by a Data Preprocessor instance, and make this data available to an Analysis Automation instance. Apart from an Analysis Automation instance, other clients, like Data Navigation, DIAdem or LabVIEW, communicate with a DataFinder instance in order to search the indexed data and to load the search results. By default, Data Indexing comes with a FileIndex instance dedicated to searching data in the SystemLink file service. For data on computers and servers outside of the SystemLink server, you create DataFinder instances with specified search areas, in which clients like Data Navigation can search.
