Use the Quick Search to find search terms in the file, group, or channel properties of all files in the search areas of a DataFinder instance. You use the quick search if you only have parts of the information you are searching for, or if you do not know whether the information you are searching for is in a file, a channel group, or a channel.
|Find several search terms||Separate several search terms with spaces.|
|Use wildcards to find parts of search terms||Find parts of search terms with wildcards (* and ?). You can only use wildcards at the end of a search term, for example, exa*.|
|Find numeric values||Use the advanced search because the quick search always interprets search terms as text. For example, if you enter the search term 100, Data Navigation searches for the text 100 and not for the numeric value 100.|
|Find search terms containing special characters||Use the advanced search because the quick search replaces the special characters in a search term with spaces.|
|Find case-sensitive search terms||Not possible because the quick search is not case-sensitive.|
