Time-Delayed Send Message (G Dataflow)

Version:
Last Modified: April 27, 2020

Waits the specified amount of time before sending a Message to an Actor a specified number of times.

connector_pane_image
datatype_icon

number of copies

Number of times this VI sends the Message. By default, the VI sends the Message an infinite number of times.

spd-note-note
Note

Use the delivery notifier to stop sending the Message.

Default: 0

datatype_icon

message enqueuer

Reference needed to send Messages to the Actor.

datatype_icon

message

Message to send.

datatype_icon

milliseconds to wait

Time, in milliseconds, this VI waits before sending the Message.

datatype_icon

error in

Error conditions that occur before this node runs.

The node responds to this input according to standard error behavior.

Standard Error Behavior

Many nodes provide an error in input and an error out output so that the node can respond to and communicate errors that occur while code is running. The value of error in specifies whether an error occurred before the node runs. Most nodes respond to values of error in in a standard, predictable way.

error in does not contain an error error in contains an error
If no error occurred before the node runs, the node begins execution normally.

If no error occurs while the node runs, it returns no error. If an error does occur while the node runs, it returns that error information as error out.

If an error occurred before the node runs, the node does not execute. Instead, it returns the error in value as error out.

Default: No error

datatype_icon

message priority

Placement of the Message in the Message queue. This placement determines when the Actor will process the Message.

Name Description
Low Specifies that the Actor processes the Message after Messages of all other priorities. The Actor processes multiple low-priority Messages in the order it receives them.
Normal Specifies that the Actor processes the Message after critical- and high-priority but before low-priority ones. The Actor processes multiple normal-priority Messages in the order it receives them.
High Specifies that the Actor processes the Message first. The Actor processes multiple high-priority Messages in the order it receives them. Only emergency stop and last ack Messages supersede high priority Messages.

Default: Normal

datatype_icon

delivery notifier

Returns a notifier refnum you can use to preempt or reschedule the Message delivery.

spd-note-note
Note

This output also an enum of a typedef with valid values to send to the notifier.

Use the Send Notification function to send the following values to this notifier:

  • Send next copy now
  • Skip next scheduled copy
  • Send next copy now and stop all further copies
  • Stop all further copies
datatype_icon

error out

Error information.

The node produces this output according to standard error behavior.

Where This Node Can Run:

Desktop OS: Windows

FPGA: Not supported

Web Server: Not supported in VIs that run in a web application
