Manually update configuration items and install drivers to resolve mapping errors in the configuration.
Note
A notification in the bottom left of the dialog shows the number of mapping errors that you must resolve before applying the configuration to your system.
Refer to the following table to determine how to resolve mapping errors.

Click the drop-down menu for the configuration item. You can choose one of the following options:
- Select the discovered hardware item you want to apply to the configuration.
- Click
Omit the configuration
to exclude the item from the configuration.

A single hardware device maps to multiple configuration items. |
One or more required drivers are missing or outdated.

Note
The
Install drivers...
button only appears if one or more drivers are missing.
- Write down the file path at the bottom of the dialog. You will navigate to this location to relaunch the NI Hardware Configuration Importer after the installation completes.

Click
Launch NI Package Manager
and follow the prompts to install drivers.

After your machine reboots, use the file path you recorded to relaunch the file and restart the hardware application process.

The configuration item requires a network device, which you must manually map to available hardware using NI MAX.

- Click the drop-down menu for the configuration item and click
Launch in NI MAX.
- In NI MAX, navigate to
Devices and Interfaces >> Network Devices
and click
Add Network Device
to discover available hardware.
- After you add the hardware device in NI MAX, return to the NI Hardware Configuration Importer dialog and select the hardware from the configuration item's drop-down menu.

The configuration item requires a GPIB instrument, which you must manually map to available hardware using NI MAX.

- Click the drop-down menu for the configuration menu and click
Launch in NI MAX.
- In NI NAX, navigate to the GPIB controller and click
Scan for Instruments
to discover available hardware.
- After NI MAX recognizes the GPIB instrument, return to the NI Hardware Configuration Importer dialog and select the hardware from the configuration item's drop-down menu.
