Retrieves data type information from a variant.
Variant data from which you want to retrieve data type information.
Error conditions that occur before this node runs.
The node responds to this input according to standard error behavior.
Standard Error Behavior
Many nodes provide an error in input and an error out output so that the node can respond to and communicate errors that occur while code is running. The value of error in specifies whether an error occurred before the node runs. Most nodes respond to values of error in in a standard, predictable way.
Default: No error
Data type stored in the variant.
A Boolean value that indicates whether the data type stored in the variant is an instance of a G type.
True |
The data type stored in the variant is an instance of a G type. |
False |
The data type stored in the variant is not an instance of a G type. |
An Alternative Way to Detect a G Type
You also can use the Is or Contains G Type? node to determine whether the data type in the variant is an instance of a G type or contains a data type that is an instance of a G type. However, the Is or Contains G Type? node does not return the G type name.

Name of the G type. This output returns an empty string if the data type stored in the variant is not an instance of a G type.
