Require users to connect to the web application using HTTPS.
Before you begin, enable SSL
After you apply an SSL certificate to
the https site binding, users can still browse and open the web application using an
HTTP connection. Complete the following steps to require SSL connections.
Open the Internet Information Services (IIS)
Manager application from the Windows start menu.
In the Connections tree, expand the asset
representing the server.
Expand Sites and select
Double-click SSL Settings.
Check the Require SSL checkbox.
Click Apply in the Actions pane.
If you browse to http://serverName:82, the browser
displays an error because an SSL connection via a URL such as
https://serverDNSHostname is required.
