Replacing the SLSC Blowers

    Equipment

    • #2 Phillips screwdriver
    • Flathead screwdriver
    1. Power off the ECUTS.
    2. Refer to Replacing the SLSC Chassis and complete the procedure.
    3. Insert the flathead screwdriver into the notches on the SLSC chassis to remove the side panels.
    4. Remove the two top panel retention screws using the #2 Phillips screwdriver.
    5. Lift the top panel off the SLSC chassis.

      4. Notches for Screwdriver Insertion
    6. Disconnect the wires associated with the fan(s) that you want to replace from the terminal block.
      1. Insert the flathead screwdriver into the spring clamp activation slot to open the corresponding connector terminal.
      2. Pull the wire out of the connector terminal and remove the screwdriver.
      3. Repeat steps b and c for each fan needing replacement.
    7. Cut the plastic cable ties as shown in the figure below.

    8. Lift the fan(s) vertically from the standoffs.
    9. Place the replacement fan(s) into the standoffs.
    10. Connect the fan wires to the terminal block.
      1. Insert the flathead screwdriver into the spring clamp activation slot to open the corresponding connector terminal.
      2. Insert the new fan wire into the open connector terminal.
      3. Remove the flathead screwdriver from the activation slot to clamp the wire into place.
      4. Repeat steps a through c for each fan needing replacement.
    11. Route the fan wires between the fans.

      For fan 3, route the wire beneath the fan tray and back through the two small grommets.

    12. Pull the wire tight to prevent it from dangling beneath the tray.
    13. Coil the wires and cable to secure them in place using the plastic cable ties and cable tie anchors from the fan kit.
    14. Replace the top panel of the SLSC chassis.

      Ensure the vent holes are at the back of the chassis.

    15. Screw in the two top panel retention screws using a #2 Phillips screwdriver.

      Refer to the Virginia Panel Corporation 9025 User Manual for more information on removing the 9025TR platform.

    16. Replace the chassis side panels.
    17. Refer to Replacing the SLSC Chassis and complete the procedure.
