DIAdem NAVIGATOR
DIAdem NAVIGATOR
Use the DIAdem NAVIGATOR panel to gain an overview of external data, to browse in data, to search for data, and to load and save data.
DataFinder
Use the DataFinder function group to open a DataFinder. If you run a Quick Search with a DataFinder, DIAdem searches for the specified value in the Properties of the files, groups, and channels of the Search Areas. If you run an Advanced Search, DIAdem searches for the property values of the files, groups, or channels that you selected. Enter the values to be found in the Search input area. DIAdem lists the Search Results. Refer to Searching for Data (DataFinder) for further information on searching with the DataFinder.
Use the File Browser tab to browse in the search areas of the enabled DataFinder. In all the files for which a DataPlugin exists you can navigate to the channel level, in the file browser.
Use the Property Display to view the properties of files, groups, and channels from the search areas and the search results. The Property Display shows, for example, the name, the size, or the storage date of a file.
![]() | Note Refer to the Properties in DIAdem - Overview page for an overview of the properties of data sets, groups, and channels. |
Select Find»Save Query As to save the parameters of the current search in a file with the file extension *.TDQ. Select Find»Load»Load Only Query to load a query you saved.
Data Stores
Use the Data Stores function group to open predefined file-based and server-based Data stores.
You can search for data in the ASAM data stores. Enter the search conditions in the Search Input Area. DIAdem lists the Search Results. Use the Data Browser to browse through the ASAM data stores. If you open an ASAM data store, the Property Display displays the properties of this ASAM data store. Refer to Searching for Data (DataFinder) for further information on how to search in ASAM data stores.
Use the DataStore object to access ASAM data stores with a script. You also can filter other data stores, for example, LabVIEW DSC data stores or Lookout data stores. If you open a data store, the Property Display displays the properties of this data store.
Loading and Saving Data
Use DIAdem NAVIGATOR to load data into the Data Portal. You can load data completely, selectively, or reduced. Drag and drop data sets, groups, and channels into the Data Portal to load data into DIAdem. You can also append files and channel groups to channels in the Data Portal.
You also can register data sets. However, DIAdem only generates a reference to registered data but does not load registered data physically into the internal memory. Registered data sets are read only. If you changed a registered data set, you cannot store this data set under the same name. To edit a channel in a registered data set and to save the changes under the same data set name, you must first expand all channels of the registered data set.
Use the Open With function in the context menu of a DataFinder or of a data store to specify the loader for loading or registering a selected data set. If the loader you need is not registered in DIAdem you must first register the appropriate DataPlugin or the appropriate GPI-DLL.
If you drag one or more channels from DIAdem NAVIGATOR to a group in the Data Portal and hover over it for a short time, DIAdem selects this group and inserts the selected channels at the end of this group as soon as you release the mouse button.
Drag and drop data into the file browser of the DataFinder or the data store or select Save As from the context menu of the data set to save data from the Data Portal.
Use a Column-oriented search to search for the selected properties of data elements of a DataFinder or of a data store. You can then load the search results with the property values column-wise as channels into the Data Portal.
