Advanced Attribute Settings Dialog Box

Click the Advanced button in the Configure Modbus I/O Server dialog box to display this dialog box. Use this dialog box to specify characteristics of each read or write command the Modbus I/O server performs. This dialog box includes the following components:
- Maximum Data Points Per Command—Specifies characteristics of each read or write command the Modbus I/O server performs.
- Coil status—Specifies the maximum number of coils in each read command (function code 1) or write command (function code 15) the Modbus I/O server performs. The default is 1976.
- Holding registers—Specifies the maximum number of holding registers in each read command (function code 3) or write command (function code 16) the Modbus I/O server performs. The default is 123.
- Discrete inputs—Specifies the maximum number of discrete inputs in each read command (function code 2) the Modbus I/O server performs. The default is 2000.
- Input registers—Specifies the maximum number of input registers in each read command (function code 4) the Modbus I/O server performs. The default is 125.
- Use function code 16 for single write—Determines whether the Modbus I/O server uses function code 16 for a single write to the holding register on the device. Place a checkmark in the checkbox to set the option to TRUE.
- First word low in 32-bit data types—Specifies whether the Modbus I/O server uses the low or the high word of a 32-bit value as the first word. Place a checkmark in this checkbox if you want to use the low word of the 32-bit value as the first word. Remove the checkmark from this checkbox if you want to use the high word of the 32-bit value as the first word.
- Reset—Resets the characteristics of the read or write command the Modbus I/O server performs to the default values.
