NI Volume License Manager lets you group data (on the main view grids only) to make it easier to manage.

Grouping Rows

To group rows in a view, complete one of the following actions:

  • Drag a column header from the column header panel to the group panel.
  • Right-click a column header and select Group Column from the context menu.

Grouping Features

You can perform the following tasks using the grouping feature:

  • Group by multiple columns at the same time.
  • To change group order, move a grouped column header to another position within the group panel.
  • When grouping a date column, you can right click on a column header and set a Grouping Interval.
  • You can also expand/collapse all group rows using a grouped column's right-click menu or using the group panel right-click menu.

Ungrouping Rows

To ungroup data, complete one of the following actions:

  • Drag a column header from the group panel to the column header panel.
  • Right-click a grouping column's header and select the Ungroup Column from the context menu.
  • Right-click on a grouped column header or the group panel and select Clear Grouping to clear a grouping.
